CMA signed onto several coalition letters, spearheaded by AMA, urging payors across the nation to immediately adopt and pay for the new CPT code, 99072.

Reminder: HHS funds available to cover COVID-19 treatment for uninsured patients

In April, HHS announced a process for allocating approximately $10 billion of the $100 billion Public Health and Emergency Fund enacted as part of the CARES Act to cover treatment of uninsured patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

Statewide Resources


Due to the PPE Relief Program's overwhelming success, CMA is extending support to practices and physicians with direct shipment of PPE supplies. As supplies become available, CMA will contact past program participants. If you have questions or would like to register your practice, please email memberservice@cmadocs.org.

The State of California made millions of medical-grade PPE pieces – including N95 masks, surgical masks, shields, gowns, and gloves – available FREE to physician practices. The California Office of Emergency Services partnered with CMA to distribute this equipment to qualifying small and medium-sized medical practices at live events in July and August. CMA is now distributing PPE Relief kits via direct shipment to practices that did not register for the first round of distribution. PPE Relief kits include up to a two-month supply (exact amount may vary by practice size, specialty and location). Questions?  See the FAQ.
