SCCMA Foundation

The Santa Clara County Medical Association Alliance Foundation is a 501(c)3 subsidiary charitable organization to help facilitate the SCCMA's involvement in community programs.

Reimagined. Reenergized. Recommitted.
The SCCMA Foundation is proud to relaunch with a renewed vision to champion physician leadership, support community health, and address the evolving challenges in healthcare today. As the philanthropic arm of the Santa Clara County Medical Association, we exist to empower the future of medicine—through education, advocacy, and compassion.

Our Mission

The SCCMA Foundation advances the health and well-being of our community, physicians, and healthcare workers by supporting medical education, promoting health equity, and fostering physician-led innovation. We connect resources, people, and purpose to create lasting impact in Santa Clara County and beyond.

Our History

The SCCMA Foundation was established to extend the mission of the Santa Clara County Medical Association beyond advocacy and into direct community impact. For years, the Foundation quietly supported scholarships, physician well-being programs, and public health campaigns.
Now, in response to unprecedented challenges in medicine—from provider burnout to public health disparities—we’re evolving. With renewed leadership and a broader vision, we’re entering a new era of impact.

Focus Areas

Physician Wellness: Caring for the Caregivers
Physicians are the backbone of our healthcare system—but too often, they’re expected to operate at full capacity without the resources to care for their own mental, emotional, and physical health.

The SCCMA Foundation is committed to restoring balance. Through our Physician Wellness Initiative, we support programs that:

  • Address burnout, moral injury, and mental health stigma
  • Provide access to confidential counseling and peer support
  • Offer leadership and resilience-building workshops
  • Create protected spaces for reflection, rest, and recovery

We believe that healthier physicians lead to healthier communities. This initiative helps ensure that those who care for others receive the care they need themselves.

Community Health & Connection: Bridging Medicine and Humanity
Health doesn’t start at the clinic door—it starts in the community. Through our Community Health & Connection Initiative, the SCCMA Foundation supports broad-based efforts that build trust, improve access, and foster collaboration between healthcare providers and the people they serve.
Our goals include:

  • Supporting grassroots public health outreach in underserved communities
  • Funding culturally responsive health education and prevention programs
  • Building partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and local leaders
  • Promoting initiatives that reduce health disparities and elevate equity

By working hand-in-hand with the communities of Santa Clara County, we can create lasting impact where it matters most: where people live, learn, work, and heal.
