The SCCMA ensures local physicians have a
voice in shaping healthcare policy

SACPAC & CALPAC

Healthcare in California is highly regulated and legislated. As government and the insurance industry continue their quest to control health care, your clinical autonomy is in jeopardy. Now more than ever, you need to fight to keep medical decisions in your well-trained hands. Medicine continues to face big challenges from budget deficits, implementation of health care reform, and attacks on MICRA and Medi-Cal. At the same time, the health of our community faces multiple risks from the economy, the insurance industry, and the healthcare delivery system. The voice of medicine must be heard on these issues.

Successful legislative advocacy depends upon an integrated approach, consisting of lobbying, grassroots activity, and political action through the Santa Clara County Political Action Committee (SACPAC) and California Medical Association's Political Action Committee (CALPAC).

SACPAC

In order to ensure elected officials promote legislation and regulations supported by organized medicine, the SCCMA Political Action Committee (SACPAC) supports local candidates who share the medical profession’s perspective.

To support the work of SACPAC you can add a financial contribution to your annual membership dues bill, or contact us today at (408) 998-8850.

CALPAC

Operated by physicians, for physicians, CALPAC supports hundreds of candidates for state and federal office who share CMA's philosophy and vision of the future of health care and medical practice.
